Allan M. Block Agency History
The Allan Block Agency was founded by Allan Block in 1959 after he had spent a brief period working in his father's insurance agency. Beginning with nothing, Allan, through perseverance, long hours and a dedication to providing his customers expertise and personalized service, quickly grew his agency to the largest in town.
It was Allan's commitment to excellence that set the standard for all his employees, especially for JoAnne Murray and Edward Schultz who joined the firm in the early 1970's. In 1991, Barbara Block, Allan's wife, passed away and JoAnne and Ed assumed ownership of the agency, With JoAnne heading up the personal lines division and Ed the commercial lines division, the Allan Block Agency accelerated its growth where it now has 24 employees, housed in 2 buildings and represents numerous insurance companies enabling it to handle accounts from the smallest personal line to large international businesses.
Through our continued commitment to the standards of excellence that Allan established the latest state-of-the-art technology and our involvement with and support of local and charitable organizations, we continue to grow and enhance our capabilities to deliver service second to none.
The Allan Block Agency is departmentalized into personal lines, commercial lines, life and group benefits, claims and operations with our staff dedicated to maintaining expertise in these specific areas which translates into the highest level of professional service.
Our operations manager, Margaret Black, has the knowledge and experience to keep our agency running as efficiently as possible while directing the ever upgrading of our communications and electronic equipment to keep pace with industry demands.
